About the Trainers and Coaches
The demand for Contract Farming expertise is on the rise — not only within GIZ but also in other organisations in development cooperation, within the private sector and in the partner countries. It is one tool among others for promoting agricultural value chains. If planned and managed well, Contract Farming can serve to improving the access to markets for smallholder farmers and the procurement of agricultural produce for processors and traders.
Supporting inclusive Contract Farming business models is a complex endeavour. Situation-specific advice requires qualified and well-experienced trainers and coaches — who are hard to come by currently.
For this reason, the GIZ Sector Project Agricultural Trade, Agribusiness, Agricultural Finance in cooperation with the GFA Consulting Group Hamburg have established a pool of trainers and coaches in this field. They promote the GIZ Contract Farming approach which is based on an inclusive business model. The pool provides suitable experts for an array of different kinds of Contract Farming assignments and in different languages: be it training, coaching or consultation in partner countries, or backstopping of national and regional experts from a distance.
Projects of GIZ or other organisations, companies or farmer-based organisations or any other party who wish to exchange or work with the trainers are kindly requested to establish contact via the facilitators of the SNRD Contract Farming Community at contract-farming@giz.de.
