Interest in Promoting Inclusive Contract Farming on the Rise
New contract farming CoP to start on joint action
SNRD Africa sees an increasing interest of GIZ colleagues and partners to receive assistance with inclusive contract farming. Hence, the SNRD Working Group Agribusiness and Inclusive Value Chain Development decided to start on joint actions including installing a new community of practice on contract farming to learn from existing experiences in adopting the GIZ approach to promote contract farming as an inclusive business model.
The Sector Project Agricultural Policy and Food Security and the Sector Project Agricultural Trade and Agricultural Value Chains also intend to further engage in supporting GIZ programmes and their partners with the development of scaling-up concepts.
More information on a recently conducted survey among SNRD member programmes in Africa and Asia which found considerable demand for external support.
