Software Tools to Tackle the SDGs
At the recent SNRD Asia / TUEWAS workshop four software tools were presented that can map and visualize SDG linkages for tracking synergies and trade-offs
The workshop had a look at the web of SDG interlinkages while getting introduced to four software tools that offer ways to simulate and visualize the complex network of the 169 targets and their indicators.
Understanding SDG interlinkages is critical for identifying synergies and trade-offs among different goals, sectors and development strategies for an integrated approach. As GIZ also needs to develop a model that can accommodate the complexity of the SDGs, the four presented software tools gave a first insight from external and internal practitioners.

The SDGs are interlinked in complex ways. There are multiple synergies and trade-offs between the 17 goals. Translating the goals to coherent actionable strategies is a daunting but not impossible task. Watch this video to see how Millennium Institute’s approach helps to overcome this challenge.
