The second volume of this handbook focuses on practical aspects. Especially because of the high demand for training on contract farming in partner countries and the apparent interest in upscaling the approach, the sector project agricultural policy and food security conducted several trainings of trainers in Zimbabwe, Thailand, or Côte d’Ivoire.

Volume II provides practitioners – i.e. farmers and farmer groups’ representatives, buyers and facilitators – with tools and case studies to make informed decisions on starting up, implementing and scaling up of contract farming schemes, including desisting from venturing into heavy investments if a planned scheme does not promise to break even within reasonable time.
