“We are protagonists of agroecological transformation.”

The Global Programme Soil Protection and Rehabilitation for Food Security released a mission statement on agroecology which stresses the link between agroecology and soil protection.

The 11 sub-statements are based on the programme’s experience. They outline the benefits of agroecology and frame the implementation of agroecological practices within the programme’s activities.

The mission statement recognizes the important role agroecology plays as the foundation of food systems and points out that to achieve agroecological transformation, it shall be promoted on all levels and for all kinds of production systems.

Agroecology is thus a complex approach and a development path towards sustainable agriculture.
